Different sizes

The Site Seal can be displayed in different sizes. Standard width is 130 and minimal width is 100 pixels. By adapting the width variable to the desired width you get the right size for your website. The Site Seal automatically adjusts itself. The Seal in the uppor right corner of this page for example has a width of 200 pixels, while the Seal in the column on the left has a width of 150 pixels. See the code for your website.

Different languages

The Site Seal is currently available in 4 different languages, Dutch, German, French and English. The language the Site Seal uses is based on the language which is present on the users computer system. If ts there no match the Site Seal will default to the English language.

Shows either domain name or organisation name

The Seal displays the domain name or organisation name to which the SSL certificate has been issued. This acts as an early warning system of potential security or hacker-related issues. In case the SSL certificated is domain name validated (DV), the domain name will be displayed. Is the SSL certificated validated by organisation (OV) the organisation or company name will be displayed in the Site Seal. Long domain or organisation names will scroll, so eventually the whole name with every character will be displayed. Users will see and appreciate this way of identification.

Different looks

The Site Seal performs several checks to confirm the availability of a SSL connection, whether the SSL connection is in use and if there are any potential security or hacker-related issues. No other seal offers these checks. The outcome of the checks will change the color of the Site Seal.

Green

A safe connection (https) and a validSSL certificate
The Site Seal turns green with a padlock in the upper right corner to indicate the connection is secured by SSL and in function.

Grey

No safe connection (http) and a valid SSL certificate
The Site Seal turns grey without a padlock to indicate there is currently no safe connection but there is a possibility to connect through https and make the connection secure.

Red

No safe connection and no SSL certificate or certificate is not correctly installed
The Site Seal turns grey without a padlock to indicate there is no secure connection available and / or the SSL certificate is not correctly installed.

Clickable > Security Check

Clicking the Site Seal will activate the Site Check tool which performs a security control and displays the qualities of the SSL certificate, like the encryption strength, expiry date, validation method, used algorithm and much more. It gives you full insight in the quality of the SSL connection. Not just you, but your visitors can perform this check also.
