Install your certificate

1. Install the Intermediate Certificate

You have received the email with the correct files (or you have downloaded it from your created account on our website). In the Zip file are multiple files. So you can see below.

You don't have to open the file GlobalSignRootCA.cer. This is normally already installed on your server. Only in exceptional cases (unknown servers) it does need to be installed.

The first file you should open is the file of the Intermediate Certificate. In our example (DomainSSL Certificate) this is GlobalSignDomainValidationCA.cer (note, there are SSL Certificates which don't have an Intermediate Certificate, you receive one file less and you can skip this step).

Right now, you will see this:

To run this setup properly, we have created a manual to install the Intermediate Certificate on our website. Go to this page.

Follow the manual step by step. After you followed the steps as described on our website the installation is complete. Return to the Zip file.

2. Install your SSL Certificate

The second file you have to open is the file of the SSL Certificate itself. You can recognize the file by your domain name. In our example, this concerns www-networking4all-com.cer. See below.

Once you've opened, this is what you see:

Before you proceed installing the SSL Certificate check out our page with installation manuals. This will be your guide during the final stage of the process. Once you have selected your correct software and followed the installation step by step, your certificate is installed.

3. Site Seal

To check if your certificate has been installed correctly you can install the Site Seal. It may be possible that the certificate seems to be installed properly on your computer, but not on the server. The Site Seal is a safety indicator. So you and your visitors can see if the SSL Certificate is installed correctly. Furthermore, the gives your visitors more confidence.

Open the URL in your Zip file or visit this page

4. Site Check

Besides the Site Seal Networking4all offers another opportunity to check whether the certificate is properly installed. Using the Site Check you can see the if your web site is really safe.
