Generating a CSR on GlobalScape Secure FTP Server
Use the Certificate Creation Wizard (Tools > Certificate Creation Wizard) to manage certificates.
There are three types of files associated with an SSL certificate key pair:
Private key file (.key)
- The private key should never be distributed to anyone. It is used to decrypt the session which is encrypted by the public key.
Certificate request file (.csr)
- Each time you create a certificate using GlobalSCAPE Secure FTP Server a Certificate request file is also created. This file has to be sent to Networking4all.
Certificate file (.crt)
- This is the signed certificate which you will receive by e-mail
The private key (.key) and certificate request (.csr) files are created at the same time.
Start GlobalScape
Menu Tools > Certification Wizard
Follow the Wizard instructions.

When you're done three files are created:
-
a self-signed certificate (.crt)
-
the private key (.key)
-
the certificate signing request (.csr)
Open the CSR in a text editor like Notepad and copy and paste the entire content in the enrollment form at Networking4all and submit it with your order.
