Generating a CSR with Cobalt RaQ4/XTR

Activate SSL for the virtual site

  • Go to Server Management
  • Click the green icon next to the virtual site which will use the SSL certificate.  The Site Management window will show up.
  • Click “Site Settings” on the left side. ( 'General' for XTR)
  • Click/select “Enable SSL”.
  • Click “Save Changes”.

Generate a self-signed certificate, private key and CSR

Now you have to create a self-signed certificate, private key and CSR. The self-signed certificate will be replaced by the signed certificate later.

  • Go to Server Management 
  • Click the green icon next tot the virtual site for which you enabled SSL.
  • Click “SSL Settings” on the left side.
  • The “Certificate Subject Information” will appear.
  • Enter the following information:
    • Country - the 2-letter land code like NL or BE
    • State - name of the state or province you are located
    • Locality -  name of the city you are located
    • Organization - the name of your organization
    • Organizational Unit - optional a department or division of your organization 
  • Select “Generate self-signed certificate” from the pull-down menu.
  • Click “Save Changes”.
RaQ4/XTR will generate the certificate files.

Copy the entire content of the Certificate Request (CSR):

-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----
encrypted data
-----END CERTIFICATE REQUEST-----

and paste the entire content in the enrollment form at Networking4all and submit it with your SSL certificate order.
