Explanation statistics
The web servers of Networking4all register exactly which Web pages and files are retrieved from your site. This information is used to generate statistics about your web pages, which for example shows which file is requested how many times and how many unique visitors visit your site.
These statistics will show you the popularity of your homepage and simultaneously monitor your generated data traffic.
You can find your statistics by writing /admin/usage behind your domain name. For example http://www.yourdomain.com/admin/usage/
Then you will see the screen below:

You get an overview per month (maximum of one year). You can see the monthly totals and the daily average of the month.
You'll see 6 different data:
Hits
Each file requested by the web server, counts as one hit. If a Web page with three pictures is requested, it generates four hits (the page + the three pictures). So, a single visitor can generate many hits. The number of hits don't say anything about the number of visitors directly.
Files
These are the total of files that have been requested from your website.
Pages
These are the number of pages that are requested from your website. A page is a total web page. In general, any HTML document or anything that generates an HTML document, is regarded as a "page". This is exclusive all other things in a document, like graphics, audio clips, etc. This figure represents only the number of page requests and not what is in the document. A real so called page varies from server to server. The default action is to consider everything with an '.htm', '.html' or '.cgi' as a page. Many sites may use other extensions such as '.phtml', '.php3' and '.pl' for pages.
Visits
These are the number of unique visitors that have visited your website (also any Web Robots from search engines). Each time an application is made to the server from a given IP address, the amount of time since a previous application is calculated. If the time difference is bigger than a preset 'visit timeout' value (or never has made a request), it's considered a new visitor and this total will be increased (both for the site as the IP address). The default timeout value is 30 minutes, so if a user visits your site at 2:00 pm and again at 6:00 pm, two "visits" are recorded.
Sites
Any request made to the server comes from an unique site, which can be referred by a name or ultimately an IP address. The figure at Sites shows the amount of unique IP addresses that has made a request to the server during the period of the report.
KBytes
This is the data traffic of your website. This is by a number of KiloBytes. In this example there are 6257649 for the month of June. You have to read this as 6.257.649 Kilobytes (or 6.2 Gigabyte).
Note: to be precise: A kiloByte is 1024 bytes, not 1000, this example would be 6.257.649/1024 = 6.110 MB traffic (other words: 6.1 GB).
If you click on A (name of the month) you'll see the details of the relevant month.
