Default https for microblog Twitter

The ability to use a secure connection to Twitter was already possible for some time, but Twitter users do not longer need to adjust this by themselves. From now on, https will be default on Twitter.

Twitter meets the desire of many users and security experts. The option to use a secure connection on the microblog was made possible about a year ago. Users could indicate this by themselves in their account. Now, this option will be set as default. Twitter writes on her own web-log that the use of https is especially useful if you use Twitter from an insecure connection, such as a public WiFi network.

With this new development, Twitter is ahead on the other major social media platform Facebook. Facebook offers the option to use https, but only like Twitter did before: as an option that users may need to adjust.
