Commercial entities which are registered within Thailand may register a ".co.th" domain name. Foreign companies which are not registered may only apply for this domain name if they have a representative in Thailand and if this local representative itself is registered within Thailand and is authorised by the foreign company to apply for the registration of the domain name. If the company is registered in Thailand, this company has to supply a company registration document (thor-khor-0401), a VAT registration document (por-por-20), a VAT modification request paper (por-por-09) or an overseas commercial permission document (thor-khor-0506). If a trademark want to register a ".co.th" domain, this party must provide a certification of the trademark registration issued by the Department of Intellectual Property (Thailand). In this case, the domain name has to be identical to name of the trademark and may not be a translation of the trademark. If a foreign company has a local representative office, an establishment paper of the foreign company (Both original and English translation), an establishment paper of Thai company (representative office) and a letter from parent company containing the following two main contents, have to be submitted: certify that the company stated is a representative office and allow the stated company to use the foreign company name as their domain name.

In case you can't find this document, you can also submit a letter which contains the committee, permanent address in Thailand and the purposes of the registrant. It's only possible to register a Thai IDN domain name directly under ".th". However, to do so, the applicant must already have a registered English subdomain name under ".th". The Thai IDN domain, directly under ".th", can only be registered if this domain refers to the already registered English subdomain (same meaning/pronunciation). If the Thai IDN domain is registered, the registrant may not delete the original English domain: if this domain is deleted, the Thai IDN domain will also be deleted. In order to register a subdomain under the ".th" domain, the rules expressed underneath and the specific restrictions regarding the subdomain stated in the paragraph "subdomains" apply. In most cases documentary proof is necessary.

If you want to register a ".th" (sub)domain, you must have at least two configured and working name servers during the registration period. Without these name servers, the registration can't proceed. Each entity can apply for only one domain name in each subdomain. However, there is one exception: an entity may register an unlimited amount of ".in.th" domain names. Next, each entity may apply for many ".co.th" domain names if and only if that entity holds a trademark which is registered within the Thai government or if that entity is a representative office of a foreign trademark. Note that the domain name must be identical the same as the name of the registered trademark in this case. All the registered domain names should be strongly similar to the applying entity's full name or abbreviation. Any words or characters which are not related in the company name may not be registered in a domain name. There is only one exception to this naming restrictions: domains under ".in.th" don't have any naming restrictions. If a domain name is deleted, this certain domain name will become available for registration (by any third party) immediately. If a domain name expires and is not directly renewed, the domain name will enter a so called redemption period. During this period the registrant may renew his domain while third parties can't register it. After this period everyone may register the certain domain name.
