A Domain Name may be applied on behalf of anyone, domiciled or residing anywhere in the world.

A Personal Domain Name (see definition underneath) may only be applied on behalf of a natural person, not acting in the capacity of a profession or company, residing anywhere in the world. For a personal domain name the applicant needs to send a valid copy of her/his passport, ID-card, driver's license or a copy of a recent (not older than half a year) extract from the population register.

Personal Domain Name: a combination of symbols at the second level under a part solely intended for natural persons, so designated by Telesur (whether or not on request of the Domain Name applicant) under the .sr-domain at the first level.

In the case a (Personal) Domain Name is applied for by a minor, a person placed under legal restraint or a person as regards to whom guardianship has been instituted, his/her legal representative or guardian shall also sign the Registration Contract.

A domain name must not start with a dash “-“ or dot “.” or must not start with the following sequence “alphanumeric_alphanumeric_dash (“-”)_dash (“-“)”. (Note: We do allow this when it is an International Domain Name which has the PUNYCODE prefix of “XN- - “)

Each character in the domain name excluding the dots “.”s must be a letter or digit or dash “-“.

The last character must be a digit or a letter. It cannot be a dash “-

Domain Name Applicants who do not reside or are not domiciled in Suriname shall designate an address in Suriname where written documents can be delivered to the Domain Name Applicant and summons, if any, can be issued.
