Only persons that have obtained a professional or academic qualification, or hold valid membership of an Institute or Trade Association may register a domain name directly under ".sh". These domain names must be at least three characters long and two letter ISO3166 country codes and country names are reserved. Next, there must be at least two configured name servers. There is no requirement for the nameserver to be physically located on The Island of Saint Helena. Neither are there any restrictions on the IP address of these nameservers. Only residents in the country of The Island of Saint Helena may register a domain name under a subdomain (third level domain). This domain name must be at least two characters long and all the top level domain suffixes are reserved for registration under these subdomains. Next, all the second level names under the ".sh" domain are reserved from begin used as third level domain names (for example: www.com.com.tm can't be registered). Finally, there must be at least two configured name servers. At least one name server must be physically located on Ascension, but there are no restrictions on the IP address of these name servers. |
