| Only trademarks may apply for a ".tm.se" domain name. The domain name needs to be identical to the name of the trademark as stated on the trademark registration document. So if the trademark name is "test123", the domain name must be "www.test123.tm.se". A trademark who may apply for a '.tm.se" must be one of the following options: - a national registered trademark at the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (PRV). - an international registered trademarks, which is protected in accordance with the Madrid Protocol. - a EU trademark registered at the Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM) in Alicante, Spain. | |

In order to successfully register a ".se" domain name, a company needs to supply their company identification number. If the company is not located in Sweden, but within a EU member state, the company needs to supply their VAT registration number. If a legal entity is not able to supply a VAT registration number, it can register a ".se" domain name if it can be identified through proof of registration in a record maintained by a public authority or by an organization with functions comparable to that of a public authority. Natural persons have to supply their personal identification number in order to successfully register a ".se" domain name. Business enterprises may register a county-related subdomain in which the applicant has its head office. So a business may only apply for a domain name in a county in which they are enrolled. In order to register a county-related subdomain, the applicant must have a business enterprise and must have a registered corporate taxation (F-tax certificate). The county-related subdomains are not listed in the paragraph subdomains, since this are many. However, they're open for registration. |

A domain name may consist of letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), hyphens (-) or a combination of these. Besides these characters it's possible to register a ".se" domain name containing characters else as characters from the latin alphabet. These supported characters are listed on the website of the registry and are used in the following languages: Danish, Faroese, Finnish, Icelandic, Meänkieli, Norwegian, Romani, Sami, Swedish and Yiddish. A few examples of supported characters are: "å", "ä", "ö", "ü" and "é". Furthermore, it's not possible to begin or end a domain name with a hyphen and it's not possible to have a hyphen on the third and fourth position in the domain name. Finally, a number combinations in the format xxxxxx-xxxx that comprise, or may comprise, a personal identity number cannot be registered. |

A ".se" domain name requires at least two name servers and may not have more than five name servers. The registry recommends that the name servers are not on the same AS. Finally, the host must have at least one IP address associated at all times. The registry may delete your ".se" domain name if the domain name is identical or similar to a distinguishing product feature, a distinguishing business feature, a family name, an artist's name (if the name is not associated with someone who died a long time ago), a title of another party's copyrighted literary or artistic work, a name that is protected by the Regulation concerning Certain Official Designations (1976:100), a geographic designation or a designation of origin that is protected by the European Council’s Regulation (EU) 510/2006 or (EU) 110/2008 or be identical or similar to a name in which the domain name owner has no rights or justified interest. Besides this may the domain name not be used in bad faith, violate the applicable statutes or public order, infringe upon the rights of any third party or cause offence. IPv6 is supported. |
