There are no restrictions: private individuals, companies and organisations may register a ".ru" domain name.
The domain name
- may not contain less as two characters.
- may not contain more as sixty-three characters.
- must begin and end with a letter or a digit.
- may not contain a hyphen on the third and fourth position.
- may not contain characters different from letters, figures and a hyphens.

The domain name may not:
- be used for phishing.
- be against the current law.
- violate or infringe upon rights of third parties.
- contain materials with pornographic images of the minors.

- contain words contradicting public interests, the principles of humanity or morality (in particular, words of obscene content, slogans of antihuman character, which insult human dignity or religious feelings, among others).
- be used to access third parties (users, visitors) information systems unauthorized or to infect these systems with malware or taking control of such software (botnet control).
- be used for phishing.
- be against the current law.

It's is possible to transfer a ".ru" domain name to another owner. In this case, the person who receives the domain administration right shall contact Networking4all and must confirm his/her consent for accepting the administration right in accordance with the current domain holder. If we receive this, we may transfer the domain name to the new holder.
It's also possible to transfer a ".ru" domain name to another registrar. If a domain name holder decides to transfer his or her domain name to Networking4all, he or she should contact the old registrar and mention that the domain name must be ready for a transfer to Networking4all. Next, we will receive the domain name and we change the information in the registry database. The transfer time depends on the former registrar. This registrar has to submit the the transfer within three days.
A transfer to another owner or registrar is not possible:
1.in case of termination of the domain name registration validity period.
2.within 30 days from the date of receipt by the Administrator of the administration right from another person.
3.within 30 days from the date of change of the Registrar exercising the domain name information support.
