Any entity (organisation or individual) may register a ".ro" domain name, independent of the location of the entity. If a person submits the registration regarding an organisation or a company it's necessary that this person is an employee of the organisation, since this person will be the owner of the domain name and will be responsible for the domain name. If the domain name is submitted regarding an organisation it's necessary to supply a tax or vat ID of the company and the ID number of the person who submits the registration. If the domain name is submitted by an individual, it's only necessary to supply an ID number of the registrant. The subdomains are only available for specific groups, for example non-profit organisations. The purpose of a specific subdomain is described under the option "purpose". |

Names within the .ro domain and its sub-domains may be registered for active usage or for inactive usage. For registered active domain names there must be an operational primary and an operational secondary Domain Name System (DNS) name server. Both name servers need permanent IP connectivity to the Internet so they can be easily checked for operational status and database accuracy at any time by the registry. Domain names which have been deleted will immediately become available for any requester. The domain name may not: - interfere with or infringe upon the rights of any third party. - be registered for any unlawful purpose. - be used in violation of any applicable laws or regulations of Romania. - be used in order to cause confusion to internet users. - be misleading or confusingly similar to the name of a famous person or to the name of a trademark or other well known name in which the applicant has no rights. - contain obscene, pornographic or offending words. - be injurious to public order or to public sensibilities. - be registered with the purpose of reselling it. |
