Any European company or individual residing within the European Union as well as in Switzerland, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, is entitled to register a ".pm" domain name.

The registry checks the applicant's details (including valid telephone number and emailadress) through the available databases. If the registry is unable to do so, the registry will need documents, which identify the applicant.

The name of the French Republic, its national institutions and national public services cannot be registered. These names can only be registered by the said national institution or service.

The name of a local community, an elected official or public institution for intermunicipal cooperation with its own taxation authority cannot be registred. Only by the said institution / official.

A chosen domain name in the national Top-Level Domains must not adversely affect the name, image or reputation of the French Republic, its national institutions, national public services, a local community or a consortium of local communities, or have the purpose or effect of disrupting the public order or morality, or the rights guaranteed by the French Constitution or French law;

A name that is identical to or that may be confused with a name which enjoys intellectual property rights under national or community-based regulations or this Code cannot be chosen as a domain name, unless the applicant has a right to or legitimate interest in asserting this name and is acting in good faith.

A surname cannot be chosen as a domain name, unless the applicant has a right to or legitimate interest in asserting this name and is acting in good faith.

The domain name may not contain abusive, racist, obscene or technical internet terms. Nor terms that are relating to crimes or offences.

- contain only letters (a-z), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (-), or a combination of these
- start and end with an alphanumeric character, not a dash.
- do not contain a dash on the 3rd and 4th position (tagged domains).

Take into account that strict regulations are made up by the French domain manager concerning the use of own name servers for “.pm” domain names. For example the “.pm” domain name should already be added in the name servers. The zone contact (RNAME) has to be an active e-mail address. Furthermore, an mx record and hostmaster@[domain name] have to exist. You can use our name servers in order to make optimal use of your domain name.

If you want to move your “.pm” domain to Networking4all, you should contact your current registrar and request to send the Domain Authorization Code (also referred to as a authcode, Authinfo code or transfer code). This code is assigned by the registrar. Authorization Codes are the password for the domain and serve as an additional safety measure. The verification codes ensure that only the domain name owner can relocate the domain.
