There are no restrictions: any legal entity and any private person may register a ".lu" domain name. In the case of a legal entity, the address of the administrative contact must be the same as the address of the organisation. If, due to the company structure, this requirement cannot be met, the registry shall require power of attorney. If the administrative contact is acting on behalf of a private individual residing outside Luxembourg, the administrative contact must also hold power of attorney. If the administrative contact does not work for the legal entity that holds the domain name and if he is submitting the registration request for and on behalf of the holder, a power of attorney, duly signed and dated, must be presented. This power of attorney must be provided on the headed paper of the legal entity and be stamped with the legal entity’s company stamp. The power of attorney must expressly refer to the fact that it has been granted for the purposes of registering and managing the domain name. This domain name must be clearly stated in the power of attorney. |

A domain name can be inactive or active. In case the applicant wants the domain name to be active, there should be at least two name servers configured. If there are less as two name servers, the domain name will be inactive. Some domain names can or may not be registered. These are domain names - Which are identical to an already registered domain name. - That are clearly contrary to public order or common decency. - That are on the list of temporarily blocked Domain Names. Deletion of a domain name must be confirmed by the holder of this domain name, even if the deletion request is signed by the administrative contact. If the domain name holder is a company (legal entity), the deletion request must be signed by an authorised signatory of this company. |

In order to transfer a ".lu" domain to Networking4all, the registrant has to contact Networking4all. Then we will request the transfer and the administrative contact of the domain name will receive an email. This email should be confirmed within two weeks, otherwise the transfer will be cancelled. If the email is confirmed the transfer is complete. If the transfer is successfully made, there will start a new registration period. From the above stated explanation can be concluded that the old registrar has nothing to do. If there is a problem with the email address from the administrative contact (where the confirmation request is sent to), the transfer can be confirmed by fax. Therefore Networking4all has to send a fax, which establish the representative's approval of the transfer, to the representative of the domain name. The representative has to place a signature in order to complete the transfer and fax the new, complete fax back to us. Then we can confirm the transfer by faxing or mailing it to the registry. In order to transfer the domain name to a new holder, the new holder needs to contact us. Then we will request the transfer and there will be send an email to the "old" domain name holder. If both parties confirm within 14 days, the transfer is complete and there will start a new registration period. If the "old" domain name holder doesn't confirm within 14 days, the domain name won't be transfered. If there is a problem with the email address from the "old" domain name holder, it's also possible to complete the transfer by fax. Here applies the same process as stated above. |
