Only legal entities or legal persons may register an ".eg" domain name. Legal entities must have headquarter in Egypt, a representative who lives in Egypt or a recognized agent in Egypt. Natural persons can not register an ".eg" domain name (they can only register a personal domain under ".name.eg"). A domain name must have a direct link with the name of the entity and may not be a general name. The registry will check this and therefore it's necessary to submit documents along with the registration of the domain name. These documents must show the name of the entity and their link with Egypt and must also show that the applicant is owner of the entity (or does the registration in behalf of the entity). For the subdomains apply the same rules as for the ordinary ".eg" domain name. However, there is one important difference: legal entities must have a headquarter in Egypt and a representative or recognized agent in Egypt is not sufficient.
