Names of Swiss municipalities can only be registered by the municipality in question. The ".ch" domain does not come from the name for Switzerland in any of its national languages; "die Schweiz", "Suisse", "Svizzera" or "Svizra". Rather, it comes from Confœderatio Helvetica (Helvetic (Swiss) Confederation), the Latin name for the country (all Swiss coins are also stamped with this name). It is not possible to register a domain name which consist of a name of a Swiss/Liechtenstein Town and/or commune. The domain name may not: - infringe upon rights of third parties. - infringe upon intellectual property. - be against the applicable law. - contain offensive, defamatory or racist words. IPv6 is supported. |
